Comment Policy

What Laurie Read is my personal opinion of the books I’ve read. To give you a great experience while you’re here, I have created a policy to make sure everyone plays nice.

I love and appreciate every comment, and will read every one – I started this site to talk books. I’m happy to talk books any time. However, if your comment does not follow my comment policy, it will be edited or deleted. If you continue to post comments that do not follow our policy, this could result in a permanent ban of your IP address, domain, and/or your email address.

If you’ve left a comment on a post and it does not appear within a reasonable amount of time (1 – 2 business days), and it follows this comment policy, please contact me. If your comment does not conform with my policy against spam, I have deleted it without notice.

Comment Name

Please do not use the Name field to stuff keywords. Use your name or nickname for commenting. If you try to stuff the name with keywords, your comment will be flagged as spam and deleted.

Email

Please use a valid email address, as it is required to leave your comment. Your email will not be published or shared at any time. Email addresses that look like spam or are invalid addresses will be flagged as spam and deleted.

Language

Please remember this is a family-friendly site (I try to never write anything I wouldn’t say in front of my grandmother), so I reserve the right to edit and/or delete any comment I feel is blatant self-promotion, over-the-top potty-mouthed, or hateful or hurtful to any of the authors on this site or the people they love, or to people in general. Please practice considerate commenting etiquette and play nice.

The Comment

Please try to stay on topic with your comment. If you run off on an inappropriate tangent, discuss something completely unrelated to the book, or try to lure readers to your product or service, your comment could be edited or deleted. Spam comments will just be deleted because spam offers nothing to the conversation.

Links

I’m always on the lookout for cool resources or new-to-us tools. That said, please do not fill your comments with links. Any more than 2 links per comment will suggest it is a spam comment and your comment will be reviewed. Please note that there is a box in the comment form for the URL of your site, which will be linked to from your name. As such, please do not sign your comment with another link to your site, as this will be removed.

Hold Harmless

All comments left on What Laurie Read are the responsibility of the commenter, not any author of What Laurie Read or Code Diva. By leaving a comment on this blog, you agree that the comment content is your own, and you agree to hold Code Diva and What Laurie Read harmless from any and all repercussions, damages, or liability.
